After decades of observing how other real estate trade associations operate; their ever escalating, unreasonable membership dues, their continually decreasing benefits and lack of concern for the burden membership places upon small brokerages and the salesperson members, MAREP (the “Mutual Association of Real Estate Practitioners, Inc.”), a Missouri corporation, was founded in 1997 by Stuart Peckham and Laura Squires to provide an alternative association to meet the needs of the real estate industry without placing a huge financial burden on brokers and their agents or making unreasonable demands upon them.  Stuart Peckham, founder and the driving force behind MAREP brings to the company over 49 years of solid experience as an educator, administrator and counselor in the fields of real estate, insurance, auctioneering, appraisal and securities. He has been a licensed real estate broker for over 40 years and has presided over hundreds of workshops and seminars throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Peckham was born in Canada. He is a citizen of the United States and a decorated D-Day veteran.
Laura brings to the company over 15 years experience in real estate, title, escrow, finance and banking and is a talented and skilled educator and counselor. She is presently owner and administrator of Professional School of Real Estate, president of Peckham & Squires Enterprises, Inc. and Squires Real Estate Services, LLC, headquartered in West Plains, Missouri, where she also has been a resident for 15 years. In addition to her other designations, she holds the prestigious professional designation of Consumer Certified Real Estate Consultant (“C-CREC”).
